Program Overview

Develop the information systems skills that matter most with the Computer Systems Technology – Analysis and Design program at Sheridan. This program focuses on analysis and design, equipping students with hands-on experience in programming, web development, database management, and networking during the first four semesters. In the final year, students will explore advanced technical topics while enhancing their interpersonal skills, preparing them for a successful career in the rapidly evolving field of information systems. Program Structure

The Computer Systems Technology – Analysis and Design program is designed to be completed in three years. The program is offered at both the Davis Campus in Brampton and the Trafalgar Campus in Oakville. Key features of the program structure include:

Academic Requirements

To apply for the Computer Systems Technology – Analysis and Design program, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:

Program Eligibility:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
- One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U)
Plus one Math Grade 12 (C* or U) or Math Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U) or Functions and Applications (MCF3M) (*Applicants presenting with Math MAP4C require a minimum 70%).
Or mature student status.

Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements will be invited to complete pre-admission tests in mathematics and/or English. Applicants asked to take the OCMA math test require a minimum 70% passing grade. See "mature student status" for details.

Applicants lacking the mathematics admission requirement for this program may wish to upgrade their mathematics prior to application. For upgrading information, please contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

International Students:

International students must meet the same academic requirements as domestic students. It is advisable for international applicants, including those from Vietnam and other Asian countries, to consult with LOA Portal's advisors for tailored guidance and support.

All applicants to Sheridan must demonstrate English-language proficiency. The following English proficiency tests are accepted for the Computer Systems Technology – Analysis And Design program (Advanced Diploma):

- A minimum score of 70% in listening and speaking and 70% in reading and writing.
Sheridan EPA test (English Proficiency Assessment):
- Listening Band – 4.0
- Reading Combined Band – 4.0
- Writing – CLB 7
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language):
- Overall score 60 with no individual section below 50.
Cambridge English Test Exams (B2 First/C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency):
- Overall Cambridge English Scale score 169 with no individual score below 162.
Duolingo English Language Test:
- Overall score of 105 with no integrated subscore lower than 85.
IELTS Academic Level:
- Overall score 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5.
iTEP Academic-Plus:
- Overall score 3.7.
LanguageCert Academic:
- Overall score 65 with no individual skill score below 60.
PTE Academic:
- Overall score 58 with no individual section below 49.
TOEFL iBT (before 2026):
- Overall score 80 with no individual section below 20.
TOEFL iBT (as of 2026):
- Overall score 4 with no section below 4.
