Academic Requirements

Program Eligibility:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including these required courses:
- One English, Grade 12 (ENG4C or ENG4U)
One Math Grade 12 (U) or Math Grade 12 Mathematics for College Technology (MCT4C) or Math Grade 11 Functions (MCR3U) or Functions and Applications (MCF3M)
Mature student status.

Applicants who do not meet the Academic Requirements will be invited to complete pre-admission tests in mathematics and English. Applicants asked to take the test are considered for admission to Term 1 contingent on receiving a minimum grade of 60% in both the pre-admission mathematics/English tests.

Applicants lacking the mathematics admission requirement for this program may wish to upgrade their mathematics prior to application. For upgrading information, please contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support.

Applicant Selection:

Eligible applicants will be selected on the basis of their previous academic achievement (the average of their six highest senior-level credits, including required courses), and/or results of pre-admission testing.

Applicants who do not meet the Academic Requirements for this program may be advised individually regarding other related programs.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

All applicants to Sheridan must demonstrate English-language proficiency. This requirement is essential for students whose first language is not English. There are several ways to prove your English proficiency:

Successful completion of Sheridan’s ESL program.
Previous secondary or postsecondary experience in English.
Achieving the minimum requirements of an English-language proficiency test.

For those who choose to take an English-language proficiency test, Sheridan recognizes the following tests and their minimum scores:

TOEFL iBT	Overall score 80 with no individual section below 20.	Overall score 88 with no individual section below 21.
Duolingo English Language Test	Overall score of 105 with no integrated subscore lower than 85.	Overall score of 115 with no integrated subscore lower than 95.
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language)	Overall score 60 with no individual section below 50.	Overall score 70 with no individual section below 60.
