Academic Requirements

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) - Data Analytics program, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, including the following required courses:
- English, Grade 12 (ENG4U)
- Mathematics, Grade 12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U or equivalent) or Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U or equivalent)
- Four other Grade 12 subjects at the U or M level
Minimum overall average of 65%.
Alternatively, applicants may qualify with two semesters of postsecondary education, including required courses, with a minimum overall average of 65%.

It is recommended that applicants have any Grade 12 science (U or M), Computer Science, or Computer Engineering Technology.

For international students, specific requirements may apply. It is advisable to contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support regarding the application process.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

All applicants to Sheridan must demonstrate English-language proficiency. The following English proficiency tests are accepted for the Bachelor Of Computer Science (Honours) - Data Analytics (PBCPDA) program:

Sheridan’s EAP program: Level 5 (formerly English for Academic Purposes)
- Certificate or Diploma program requirement: A minimum score of 70% in listening and speaking and 70% in reading and writing.
- Degree, Master’s and Graduate Certificate program requirement: A minimum score of 75% in listening and speaking and 75% in reading and writing.
Sheridan EPA test (English Proficiency Assessment)
- Certificate or Diploma program requirement: Listening Band – 4.0, Reading Combined Band – 4.0, Writing – CLB 7.
- Degree, Master’s and Graduate Certificate program requirement: Listening Band – 4.5, Reading Combined Band – 4.5, Writing – CLB 8.
CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language)
- Certificate or Diploma program requirement: overall score 60 with no individual section below 50.
- Degree, Master’s and Graduate Certificate program requirement: overall score 70 with no individual section below 60.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
- Certificate or Diploma program requirement: overall score 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5.
- Degree, Master’s and Graduate Certificate program requirement: overall score 6.5 with no individual band below 6.0.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
- Before 2026: Certificate or Diploma program requirement: overall score 80 with no individual section below 20; Degree requirement: overall score 88 with no individual section below 21.
- As of 2026: Certificate or Diploma program requirement: overall score 4 with no section below 4; Degree requirement: overall score 4.5 with no section below 4.5.
