The Financial Planning (FIP) program is an eight-month graduate certificate designed to prepare students for a career in one of the fastest-growing sectors of financial services. This program equips students with essential skills for various roles in banks, trust companies, insurance firms, and investment and wealth management companies. Students will learn to manage personal finances, provide financial advice, and pursue industry-demanded certifications, making them well-prepared for the financial planning landscape.

Program structure

The Financial Planning program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience over a duration of 2 semesters (8 months). The program is offered in a flexible delivery format, allowing students to choose between in-person and online learning options. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Full-time study option available
  • Field placement work experience, requiring a minimum of 140 hours of financial planning-related employment activities
  • Opportunity to complete an industry project as an alternative to field placement
  • Courses delivered in a flexible format, combining in-person and online learning

Students are supported throughout their field placement experience, ensuring they can apply their knowledge in real-world settings while gaining valuable work experience.
