Program Overview

Offered collaboratively with Durham College, the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing - Collaborative program is designed to prepare nurses who are dedicated to excellence and innovation in addressing the nursing needs of society. This comprehensive program is delivered by a shared team of professors and experts, utilizing high-tech nursing labs to provide students with practical, hands-on experience. Students will engage in collaborative learning activities that encourage active participation in their education, focusing on the human experience of health, illness, and healing. Graduates will be eligible to write the National Council Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) and must comply with the registration requirements of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

Program Structure

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing - Collaborative program is structured to be completed in four years of full-time study. The program includes:

  • Experiential learning opportunities through clinical placements, internships, and practicums.
  • In-class delivery method at Ontario Tech University, North Oshawa.
  • Start dates in September each year.

This program emphasizes a strong clinical focus, allowing students to develop their nursing skills and knowledge in various healthcare settings. Clinical placements are integrated into each year of the program, starting from the first year, ensuring that students can apply their learning in real-world environments.
