Program Overview

If helping improve people’s well-being interests you, the Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) program is an excellent choice. This program adopts a multidisciplinary approach that addresses both the physical and social determinants of health. Graduates can pursue careers in various fields such as health administration, medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and public health. The program emphasizes the importance of skills required in the increasingly complex health-care industry, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their future careers.

Program Structure

The Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) program is designed to be completed in four years of full-time study. The program includes:

  • Experiential learning opportunities such as clinical placements, internships, practicums, and research studies.
  • In-class delivery method at Ontario Tech University, North Oshawa.
  • Start dates in September.

Students can choose from two specializations:

  • Human Health Science: Focuses on fundamental areas of science related to human health and disease.
  • Public Health: Examines health from a community perspective, addressing health status, inequities, and health promotion strategies.

This program also allows students to acquire a Minor in Legal Studies from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities upon entering their second year.
