In a world where inequities still exist, Humber’s Child and Youth Care advanced diploma program prepares you to promote the optimal development and care of children, youth, and their families through a holistic lens. Students develop skills in assessing needs, advocacy, developing and facilitating programs, and creating safer spaces through the application of an equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging lens. You will learn how to use therapeutic activities and planned interventions to support and facilitate positive change and growth. The program includes three field experiences and provides knowledge in various areas such as child development, relational practice principles, family dynamics, and trauma-informed care. This program is accredited by the Child and Youth Care Education and Accreditation Board of Canada and is delivered by award-winning faculty with relevant experience.

The Advanced College Diploma in Child and Youth Care (CY311) is designed to be completed over a period of 6 semesters. The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes both theoretical and practical components, ensuring students are well-prepared for their future careers.
