Program Overview

The Behavioural Science Technician (Accelerated) program is a unique, intensive one-year diploma course designed for individuals who already hold a bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field. This program focuses on the study of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) and behavioural intervention techniques, equipping students with the skills necessary to work with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and various behavioural disorders. The program is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of behaviour analysis, preparing graduates for meaningful careers in this growing field.

Program Structure

The Behavioural Science Technician (Accelerated) program is structured as follows:

  • Field Education: Two intensive seven-week field placements in semesters 3 and 4
  • Location: Waterfront Campus

This program includes a heavy workload and frequent use of complex scientific terminology. Students will engage in learning activities that require the ability to read and analyze scientific journal articles. The program emphasizes practical application in the field, with placements that may require travel across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to various partner agencies.
