Program Overview

The Insurance Management program at Centennial College is a comprehensive two-semester graduate certificate program designed for college or university graduates. It focuses on essential skills in claims investigations, underwriting, and brokering relationships within the property and casualty insurance sector. This program aims to equip students with a robust educational foundation in various aspects of insurance, preparing them for supervisory, management, or specialist roles in business, government, and service organizations. Graduates will gain the ability to explain the workings of the insurance business and the significance of property and liability insurance, making them competent candidates for employment in the insurance industry.

Program Structure

The Insurance Management program is structured as follows:

  • Program Length: 1 year / 2 semesters
  • Location: Progress Campus
  • Delivery Modes: The program offers various delivery modes, including asynchronous learning, synchronous learning, hybrid, and on-campus classes, accommodating different student needs.
  • Pathway to Professional Designation: The program includes seven of the ten insurance industry-specific courses required for the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation, allowing students to take the remaining courses through the Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC).

Students are required to join the IIC at no cost and maintain membership throughout their studies. Additionally, they must purchase textbooks and resources directly from the IIC.
