Program Overview

The Mechanical Engineering Bridge to UVic program is designed for graduates of technology diplomas who aspire to continue their education and transition into third-year studies at the University of Victoria (UVic) or the University of British Columbia (UBC). This program serves as a crucial step towards becoming a professional engineer, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the engineering field. Program Structure

The Mechanical Engineering Bridge to UVic program has a duration of 8 months, starting in January and concluding in December. The program is structured as follows:

  • Full-time study option available.
  • Two academic terms, each consisting of 14 weeks of classes followed by an exam period.
  • Classes are scheduled for approximately 25-28 hours per week.
  • Homework commitments are estimated at three to four hours per day, including weekends.
  • Mandatory co-op participation upon acceptance into UVic, with potential for transferable work terms from the technology diploma.
  • Optional internship work term available from May to August.

This program is designed to provide students with both hands-on experiences and a solid foundation in advanced engineering concepts, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future studies and careers.
