Civil Engineering Bridge To UVic, Advanced Diploma, Co-op designation

Academic Requirements

The Civil Engineering Bridge to UVic program has specific academic requirements that applicants must meet to be considered for admission. It is important to note that this program is demanding and requires a high level of commitment. The admission process is designed to identify students who are most likely to succeed at the University. The number of applicants meeting the minimum GPA standard for admission may exceed the number of available seats, which could result in a higher GPA being used to determine eligibility.

All applicants must provide:

• High school transcripts
• Other post-secondary transcripts

Regardless of their relevance to engineering studies, all post-secondary transcripts must be submitted.

Additionally, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• A Diploma in Civil, Municipal, Environmental, or Structural Engineering Technology within the last 5 years with a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 (B) and no individual course marks below a "C" grade - an official copy is required.
• A Diploma in Civil, Municipal, Environmental, or Structural Engineering Technology more than 5 years ago with a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 (B) and no individual course marks below a "C" grade - an official copy and a Letter of Intent outlining work experience and/or professional development since graduation.
• A diploma from another closely related discipline within the last 5 years with a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.0 (B) and no individual course marks below a "C" grade, approved by the Engineering Bridge Coordinator - an official copy is required.

Important notes:

• Camosun College diploma graduates are not required to submit their Camosun transcripts.
• "In progress" transcripts may be accepted if students are currently enrolled in the final courses of their diploma program. These courses must be completed prior to acceptance for admission.
• Diploma programs must be accredited by Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) to be eligible for admission. Other Canadian technology programs not accredited by TAC may be considered but will require the submission of detailed course descriptions (syllabi) for all courses.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

To be admitted to the Civil Engineering Bridge To UVic program at Camosun College, you must meet one of the following English proficiency requirements:

• IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 overall (no sub-score less than 6.0)
• TOEFL iBT score of 78 overall (no sub-score less than 19)
• PTE Academic or PTE Academic Online score of 54 overall (no sub-score less than 50)
• Cambridge Assessment of English: C1 Advanced score of 174 overall (no sub-score less than 169)
• CAEL CE score of 60 overall (no sub-score less than 60)

Note: Your test results must be from the past two years. Some programs may require higher scores than these minimum requirements. Please check with our team for more details.
