If you look around any urban area, most of what you see is the result of civil engineering. The Civil Engineering Technology program at Camosun College teaches students how to plan, design, and maintain structures and public works while respecting and responding to the natural environment. This program is designed for those who are interested in creating the infrastructure we live in, ensuring that essential services like clean water and safe roads are available to everyone.

Program structure

The Civil Engineering Technology Diploma program is structured to provide a comprehensive education over the course of four semesters. Students can choose to study either full-time or part-time, with options available for international students. The program includes:

  • Hands-on learning experiences to develop real-world technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Co-operative Education and Internship programs to gain valuable work experience and industry connections.
  • A major design project in the second year, allowing students to apply their skills to a project of their choosing.

This program starts every September, providing students with a solid foundation in civil engineering principles and practices. The curriculum is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to succeed in the field, preparing them for a rewarding career in civil engineering technology.
