Program overview

If you look around any urban area, most of what you see is the result of civil engineering. The Civil Engineering Technology program at Camosun College teaches students how to plan, design, and maintain structures and public works while respecting and responding to the natural environment. This program is designed for those who are interested in creating the infrastructure we live in, ensuring safety, and enhancing public health through effective engineering practices.

Program structure

The Civil Engineering Technology program is structured to provide a comprehensive education over a period of four semesters. Students can choose to study either full-time or part-time, with options available for international students. The program includes:

  • Hands-on learning experiences that develop real-world technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Co-operative Education and Internship programs that offer valuable work experience and industry connections.
  • A major design project in the second year, allowing students to apply their skills to a project of their choosing.

This program starts every September, providing students with a solid foundation in civil engineering principles and practices, preparing them for a successful career in the field.
