Program Overview

The Sustainable Business Leadership Advanced Diploma at BCIT is a unique program designed for individuals passionate about sustainability and environmental issues. This intensive program spans 10 months and is delivered in a blended format, combining both in-person and online learning. Classes are held twice a week in the evenings, allowing students to balance their studies with other commitments. The program aims to equip students with the necessary skills to lead sustainable practices in various industries, making a positive impact on their communities and the planet. With a focus on applied learning and industry connections, graduates are well-prepared to embark on fulfilling careers in sustainable business leadership.

Program Structure

The Sustainable Business Leadership Advanced Diploma is structured to provide a comprehensive education in sustainability over a 10-month period, divided into three terms:

  • Term 1: Foundations (September to December, 15 weeks)
  • Term 2: Design (January to March, 12 weeks)
  • Term 3: Management (April to June, 12 weeks)

Students can choose to study either full-time or part-time, with the full-time option requiring attendance two evenings a week. The program consists of:

  • A total of 46 credits across various courses.
  • A 24-week capstone project with an industry client during the final two terms, providing hands-on experience.
  • Small class sizes to ensure individual attention and support.
  • Industry instructors with real-world experience in sustainability.

This program is delivered in a blended format, combining in-class instruction at the BCIT Downtown Campus with online learning components, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all students.
