Academic Requirements

For the Architectural and Structural CADD and Graphics Technician (Structural Option) program, applicants must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Minimum GPA: A minimum overall GPA of 65% is required to graduate from the program.
Prerequisite Courses:
- English Studies 12 (50%) or equivalent.
- One of the following Math courses:
  - Pre-Calculus 11 (50%)
  - Foundations of Math 11 (50%)
  - Workplace Math 11 (50%)

International applicants are welcome to apply for this program. Here are some specific requirements for international students:

Study Permit: A valid BCIT study permit is required prior to starting the program.
Post-graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Eligibility: This program does not meet the eligible field of study requirement (CIP) and is therefore not eligible for students to apply for a PGWP.

BCIT Technical Academic English (TAE) 5 - 50%
BCIT Technical Academic English (TAE) 4 - 60%
Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test - 60 overall band score with no component below 50
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Academic only) - Overall score 6.0, No band less than 5.0
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Overall score 52, No skill score less than 50
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) - Overall score 82, No section score less than 19
