Program Overview

The Building Construction Technician program is an accelerated two-year Ontario College Diploma designed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for a successful career in the building industry. This program is delivered over three academic periods (semesters) and focuses on the fundamentals of the construction industry, including techniques, industry trends, and safety practices. Students will engage in hands-on learning from day one, gaining practical skills in areas such as drafting, structure design, and the use of industry-standard computer applications like AutoCAD. All practical classes are conducted in the state-of-the-art Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE), ensuring students have access to modern tools and equipment.
