The Building Construction Technician program is an accelerated two-year Ontario College Diploma designed to equip students with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills for a lifelong career in the building industry. Delivered over three academic periods, this program emphasizes hands-on learning from day one, covering essential aspects of the construction industry, including techniques, industry trends, and safety practices. Students will gain practical experience in a modern lab setting, learning how to safely work on construction sites, drafting, structure design, and using industry-standard computer applications like AutoCAD. All practical classes are conducted in the state-of-the-art Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE), ensuring students are well-prepared for the demands of the industry.
