Program overview

The Combined Degree program at Ivey Business School allows students to earn two degrees simultaneously: an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (HBA) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Actuarial Science. This unique program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both business and scientific principles, equipping them with the skills necessary for a successful career in various fields. By integrating these two disciplines, students can develop a strong foundation that enhances their employability and prepares them for the complexities of the modern workforce.

Program structure

The Combined Degree program is structured to be completed over a five-year period. During the first two years, students will focus on foundational courses in their chosen fields before transitioning into the HBA program. The program structure includes:

  • Years 1 and 2: Students are enrolled in the Faculty of Science, completing the necessary prerequisites.
  • Year 3: Students enter the HBA program, where they begin to integrate business courses with their scientific studies.
  • Years 4 and 5: Students will continue to take a combination of business courses and required courses in Actuarial Science.

This program also offers options for experiential learning, such as co-op placements or internships, allowing students to gain practical experience in their fields while studying.
