Academic Requirements

To apply for the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island, students must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Students must be a Psychology major.
A full-time Psychology faculty member who is willing to supervise your Honours thesis is required.
A completed pre-Honours application must be submitted along with a copy of your official academic transcript.
An overall academic average of 70% or above is required, with an overall Psychology course average of 75% or above. Students must maintain these averages to remain in the program.

For those pursuing a major in Psychology, the following core courses are required:

Psychology 1010 - Introduction to Psychology—Part I
Psychology 1020 - Introduction to Psychology—Part II
Psychology 2700 - Quantitative Research Methods
Psychology 2730 - Qualitative Methods and Analysis
Psychology 2750 - Quantitative Analysis

Additionally, students must take at least one course in six of the seven specified areas and at least two courses at the 3000-level or above, as well as one course at the 4000-level.
