Program overview

Explore the full breadth of the nursing profession, from community nursing to emergency care, with our nationally recognized Bachelor of Nursing (BN) program. Our campus is strategically located adjacent to New Brunswick’s largest health care facility, the Saint John Regional Hospital, which serves as the province's main trauma and heart care center as well as a medical teaching facility. This unique positioning allows students to gain invaluable insights and experiences in a real-world healthcare environment.

Program structure

The Bachelor of Nursing program offers two delivery models to accommodate different learning preferences: a four-year program and a condensed three-year model. Students can select their preferred model during the application process. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive education in nursing, with a focus on:

  • Introductory classes in physical and social sciences
  • Health specialties such as mental health and family health in the second year
  • Acute care and community nursing in the third and fourth years

Throughout the program, students will engage in clinical care practicums at both the hospital and local community, industry, and public health programs. This hands-on experience is crucial for developing practical skills and understanding the complexities of patient care.
