Academic Requirements

To apply for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at University Canada West (UCW), applicants must meet the following academic requirements:

A cumulative GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.33 scale) or better in a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
One of the following:
- A suitable score on a Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) that has been written in the last five (5) years.
- A relevant Canadian professional designation or equivalent international designation (e.g., CPA, CA, CGA, CMA, CHRP or P.Eng).
- A bachelor’s degree in business or a STEM-related program from a recognized university.
- A minimum of three (3) years documented professional or management experience with evidence of career progression and relevant education and/or training.

For international students, particularly those from Vietnam and other Asian countries, it is essential to note that:

If your first language is not English, you must submit an IELTS score of at least 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 in the writing band) or equivalent (TOEFL, PTE, Duolingo, etc.).
If your first language is English and you can demonstrate that you graduated from a recognized degree program in an English-speaking country, the English IELTS score or equivalent requirement is waived.

Prerequisite courses for the MBA program include:

Completion of 3 credits for the Business Analytics course.
Completion of 6 credits including Accounting for Managers for the Financial Management course.
Completion of 6 credits for Operations Management.
Completion of 12 credits for Leadership in the Global Context.
Completion of 15 credits for Marketing Management.
Completion of 21 credits for Project Management.
Completion of 30 credits for Capstone Experience Course.

Language Requirements

At University Canada West, proof of English language proficiency is required for applicants to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Supply Chain program. The following English language tests and their respective scores are accepted:

IELTS: Minimum score of 6.5
TOEFL (iBT): Minimum score of 88
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Minimum score of 176
Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL): Minimum score of 60
Pearson Test of English (PTE): Minimum score of 58

Applicants who have completed their education in an English-speaking country may be exempt from providing additional proof of English proficiency. However, the Admissions Department may still request further proof if there are any concerns regarding the applicant's English language skills.
