Academic Requirements

For students interested in the Master of Arts - Cultural Studies (Course Based) (MA.CUST) program, the following Academic Requirements apply:

International students must have a minimum of 7.0 average in Grade 12 (only academic courses are taken into average calculation) if applying with a Vietnam upper secondary school diploma.
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
For students from India, the requirements include a Standard X Certificate results PLUS a minimum 70% average in Standard XII in the best 4 academic courses, including English.
Students from China must have a minimum 75% average in Senior 3 (only academic courses are taken into average calculation).
For students from other countries, please refer to the specific Academic Requirements for your country.

Language Requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English are typically required to submit proof of English proficiency through one of the following accepted tests:

TOEFL / TOEFL IBT / TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition: 86 IBT with a minimum writing score of 20.
IELTS: 6.5, with no band below 6.0.
The Duolingo English Test: 115 (Note: Not accepted by the School of Graduate Studies at Trent).
CAEL | CAEL On-line: 60.
Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency: 176, with no sub-score below 169.
Pearson PTE Academic: 59.
Trent Academic ESL Program: Academic English II with 75% in all courses.
