Academic Requirements

For students interested in the Bachelor of Science - Forensics and Science (Honours) program, the following Academic Requirements apply:

Minimum GPA: A minimum average of 70% in the best six 4U/M courses is required.
International Students:
- For students from Vietnam, a minimum average of 7.0 in Grade 12 (only academic courses are taken into average calculation) is required.
- English language proficiency test results are normally required for direct admission to undergraduate studies. However, students in the CBSE curriculum are exempted from providing English Language Proficiency test.
Prerequisite Courses: Specific prerequisite courses may be required, and students should refer to the admission chart for program-specific requirements.
Transcripts: Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Applicants whose first language is not English are typically required to provide proof of English proficiency through one of the following accepted tests:

TOEFL / TOEFL IBT / TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition: 86 IBT with a minimum writing score of 20.
IELTS: 6.5, with no band below 6.0.
The Duolingo English Test: 115 (Note: Duolingo is not accepted by the School of Graduate Studies at Trent).
CAEL | CAEL On-line: 60.
Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency (Certificate of Advanced English): 176, with no sub-score below 169.
Pearson PTE Academic In-person & Online: 59.
Trent Academic ESL Program: Academic English II with 75% in all courses.
