Academic Requirements

For students interested in the Bachelor of Science - Computer Science - Software Engineering (Honours) program, the following Academic Requirements apply:

Minimum GPA: 70% average in best six 4U/M courses for Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) applicants.
For International Students:
- Minimum 7.0 average in Grade 12 for students from Vietnam (only academic courses are taken into average calculation).
- English language proficiency test results are normally required for direct admission to undergraduate studies. However, students in the CBSE curriculum from India are exempt from providing English Language Proficiency test.
- Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
For students from other educational backgrounds, the following are also applicable:
- Minimum 'B' average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) for American-patterned education.
- Minimum 75% average for students with a China Senior High School Diploma.

Language Requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English are typically required to provide proof of English proficiency through one of the following accepted tests:

TOEFL / TOEFL IBT / TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition: 86 IBT with a minimum writing score of 20.
IELTS: 6.5, with no band below 6.0.
The Duolingo English Test: 115 (Note: Duolingo is not accepted by the School of Graduate Studies at Trent, and is only applicable for Undergraduate applications).
CAEL | CAEL On-line (starting July 2020): 60.
Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency (Certificate of Advanced English): 176, with no sub-score below 169.
Pearson PTE Academic In-person & Online: 59.
Trent Academic ESL Program: Academic English II with 75% in all courses.
