The Personal Support Worker program at St. Lawrence College is an Ontario College Certificate program designed to equip students with the skills necessary to provide personal care and support services to individuals and families. Program structure

The Personal Support Worker program is structured to be completed in 1 year of full-time study. The program includes:

  • Comprehensive training that meets the standards of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
  • Hands-on experience through over 400 hours of clinical placements in various settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community agencies.
  • Opportunities to earn additional certifications such as Safe Food Handling and Gentle Persuasive Approach for dementia care.
  • Preparation for potential bridge programs for those wishing to continue their education in nursing.
