Academic Requirements for International Students

Standard Admission

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Business Administration - Innovation and Sustainability (Degree Completion) program at Royal Roads University, international applicants must:
Have completed a minimum of 60 college or university credits (including 24 second-year level credits) in any discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Achieve a minimum overall GPA of 'B' (3.00/4.33).

Flexible Admission

Applicants who do not meet the standard Academic Requirements but possess significant work and life experience may be considered under the flexible admission policy:

For applicants with fewer than 15 college or university credits, a minimum of five years of full-time work experience is required, with at least three years at a supervisory, management, or project lead level.
Additional documents required for flexible admission include:
Letter of Reference: Typically one professional, academic, or community service letter confirming the applicant's suitability for the program.
Statement of Intent: A two to three-page essay addressing the applicant's reasons for selecting the BBA program, how it aligns with their personal and professional goals, and why project-based learning suits their learning style.
Detailed Résumé: Including education, work experience, training and professional development, voluntary/unpaid work experience, information technology training and experience, professional memberships/affiliations, and other relevant information.

English Language Requirements

International applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following standardized tests:

IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.5 in writing and speaking, and 6.0 in listening and reading.
TOEFL iBT: 88 overall with a minimum of 24 in writing, and 20 in listening, reading, and speaking.
PTE Academic: 60 overall with a minimum of 60 in writing and speaking, and 58 in listening and reading.
Duolingo English Test (DET): 115 overall with a minimum of 110 for literacy, comprehension, and conversation; and 115 for production.
