Academic Requirements for International Students

To apply for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Executive Management program at Royal Roads University, international applicants must meet the following criteria:

Academic Qualifications:

Completion of a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate degree in a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Professional Experience:

Typically, seven years of full-time relevant work experience, including three years at a management level with increasing responsibility.
Applicants who do not meet the standard Academic Requirements may be considered for flexible admission. This pathway assesses a combination of work experience, education, and professional development to determine eligibility. Under flexible admission, applicants would normally require at least 10 years of full-time relevant work experience, including five years at a management level with increasing responsibility.

Additional Requirements:

Solid academic and business research, writing, critical thinking, accounting, and numeracy skills are required for success in this program. Applicants need to include detailed information and evidence that highlights both skills gained through academic writing and/or work experience.
Submission of official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. In some cases, transcripts may need to be evaluated by WES (World Education Services).

English Language Requirements

TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 88 with a minimum of 24 in writing, and 20 in listening, reading, and speaking.
PTE Academic: Overall score of 60 with a minimum of 60 in writing and speaking, and 58 in listening and reading.
Duolingo English Test: Overall score of 115 with a minimum of 110 in literacy, comprehension, and conversation; and 115 in production.

Note: Test results are considered valid for two years from the date of the exam.
