Program Overview

Apply to the Schulich School of Education and earn your Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree at Nipissing University, one of the leading education programs in Ontario. This program is designed to produce exceptionally well-prepared and professionally-minded teachers. The Schulich School of Education equips students with the necessary skills to teach in both traditional and non-traditional environments. Students will develop transferable communication and collaborative skills that are essential for any career path they choose to pursue.

Program Structure

The Dual Degree program combines an honours undergraduate degree in a chosen discipline with a Bachelor of Education degree. The program is structured as follows:

  • Program Length: 6 years
  • Practicum: 19 weeks of practicum experience plus 60 hours of Community Leadership Experience (CLE)
  • Divisions Available:
    • P/J – (J/K to Grade 6)
    • P/J – French as a Second Language
    • J/I – (Grades 4 to 10)
    • I/S – (Grades 7 to 12)

This program offers a comprehensive approach to teacher education, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to meet the demands of the teaching profession.
