Program overview

The Digital Music Production program is an intensive, one-year full-time certificate program tailored for aspiring music producers and composers. This program equips students with the skills necessary to thrive in various industries, including recording, film, television, gaming, advertising, and multimedia. Students will gain hands-on experience using their own mobile production studio and industry-standard music production software, preparing them for a successful career in the evolving music landscape.

Program structure

The Digital Music Production program spans a minimum of one year and is delivered in a full-time, in-person format. Classes commence in September and are scheduled five nights a week from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday. The program is divided into three 14-week terms, with short breaks in between each term. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Two groups of a maximum of 16 students per cohort.
  • Classes primarily held at 601 West Broadway in Vancouver, with additional sessions at local professional recording studios.
  • Instruction from qualified college-level educators and industry professionals.

This program is designed to train producers at various levels, from those creating their own music to those producing for other artists and composing for commercial projects.
