Academic Requirements

To apply for the Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Lakehead University, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Hold an undergraduate degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
Achieve a minimum GPA of at least a B average.
Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
Complete and submit the online application available on the Graduate Studies website.
Arrange for one copy of official transcripts of your marks to be forwarded directly to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Complete the supplemental information form and a study plan as part of the application.

The MSW program offers both a practice track (project) and a research track (thesis).
