Program Overview

Humber’s award-winning Multimedia Design and Development diploma program provides students with a comprehensive multimedia design education. This program focuses on developing a wide range of interactive digital media production skills, including web design, mobile interface design, experience design, motion graphics, and digital storytelling. Students will engage in hands-on learning, gaining both creative and technical capabilities essential for careers in user experience (UX) design, user interface (UI) design, product design, and more. The program is structured to allow students to explore various areas of design and development, confirming their focus after the first semester, which is shared with the Graphic Design program. This collaborative environment enhances creative thinking and teamwork, preparing students for real-world multimedia work.

Program Structure

The Multimedia Design and Development program spans 4 semesters and offers both full-time and online options. The program structure includes:

  • Hands-on learning with industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
  • Exposure to web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Collaborative projects with students from related programs to enhance teamwork and project management skills.
  • Field experience in the final semester, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world settings.
  • Optional co-operative education opportunities for paid work terms in the field.
