Academic Requirements

To apply for the Jewellery Essentials program (F111) at George Brown College, applicants must meet the following Academic Requirements:

Must possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
Must have completed Grade 12 English (C or U).
Basic computer literacy and skill level in Word and Excel are recommended.
Mature students (19 years of age or older and without an OSSD) may take the Admissions Assessment for English or consider upgrading to achieve the necessary credits in English.

Language Requirements

To be considered for admission to the College Certificate - Jewellery Essentials (F111) program, applicants must provide proof of English proficiency if English is not the first language in their country. The following English language tests and their respective minimum scores are accepted:

George Brown English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program: Level 8
IELTS (Academic): 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill band
TOEFL: 80 (online), with a minimum of 20 in each skill band
Duolingo English Test: 110 overall score, with a minimum of 90 in production score
MELAB: 80
PTE (Academic): 54 overall, with a minimum of 50 in each skill band
CAEL: 60 overall
Cambridge English Exams (B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency): 169 or more, with no individual skill below 162

For applicants who do not meet the English language entry requirements, conditional admission may be offered, subject to successful completion of the required level in the EAP program.
