Program Overview

The Graphic Design program at George Brown College is a comprehensive training ground for aspiring designers. This program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in design principles while allowing them to specialize in either Communication Design or Advertising Design. With a focus on real-world applications, students will engage in hands-on projects that foster creativity and innovation. The program is structured to ignite passion and prepare graduates for a successful career in the dynamic design industry.

Program Structure

The Graphic Design program is a full-time, three-year advanced diploma program consisting of six semesters. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Program Length: 3 years (6 semesters)
  • Starting Months: January and September
  • Experiential Learning: Field Placement available based on academic performance
  • Students will build a strong foundation in essential design subjects during the first three semesters.
  • In the fourth semester, students choose to specialize in either Communication Design or Advertising Design.
  • The final year includes a thesis or major project, along with professional practice classes to prepare for the workforce.

This program is eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), allowing graduates to gain valuable work experience in Canada after completing their studies.
