Academic Requirements

To apply for the Game – Development program, prospective students must meet the following academic requirements:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older).
• Grade 12 English (C or U), or equivalent (minimum grade required).
• Grade 11 Mathematics (M or U) or Grade 12 Mathematics (C or U), or equivalent (minimum grade required).

Additionally, students who are accepted into the program will be invited to:

• Submit a resume and/or complete an intake questionnaire after receiving their offer.
• Attend a mandatory Program Welcome Session online, prior to program start-up.

Note: All new students must attend a session prior to their program start date.

For international students, it is important to note that transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases. Students are encouraged to contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support regarding the application process.

While there is no specific deadline mentioned for applications, it is advisable to apply as soon as possible to ensure a smooth admission process.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

All course work at Centennial College is taught in English, and success in our programs requires a high level of English language proficiency including communication, listening, comprehension, reading, and writing skills. As such, all applicants to Centennial College must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language proficiency to be admitted to their program of choice.

In order to meet the language proficiency requirement, applicants can demonstrate English proficiency through:

1. Previous education,
2. Recognized English upgrading, or
3. Recognized English proficiency tests or assessments.

Unless otherwise stated on a program’s webpage, English proficiency can be demonstrated by:

• Successfully completing two or more consecutive full years at a recognized secondary or post-secondary education institution in a school where English is the primary language of instruction and communication.
• Successfully completing a grade 12 college or university stream English course from a recognized Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) granting institution, or equivalent.

There are some diplomas and advanced diplomas that require a higher level of English (COMM 170/171).
