Program Overview

In the Broadcasting - Film, Television, Digital Media and Radio program, you'll be trained in the traditional storytelling skills for the motion picture, television, and radio industries, as well as multiplatform digital production. This media program, offered through Centennial College's School of Communications, Media, Arts and Design, will prepare you with the creative and technical skills to succeed in the time-based media industry. You'll learn to develop and create original story content and prepare, manage, and carry out the production process to realize a creative vision.

 

In this advanced diploma program, you'll develop a balance between the industry's artistic and commercial aspects, and be exposed to a variety of industry practices and players. You'll gain technical experience with HD broadcasting studios, digital film, television, and multiplatform production, while also participating in a wide range of student films and productions.

Program Structure

The Broadcasting - Film, Television, Digital Media and Radio program is structured over a period of three years or six semesters. This comprehensive program includes various options for hands-on learning experiences, such as:

  • Full-time industry field placement for 14 weeks
  • Opportunities to create and contribute to student films and digital video productions
  • Exposure to live-to-air productions and client-based projects

 

Throughout the program, students will engage in a variety of practical experiences that will enhance their learning and prepare them for successful careers in the broadcasting and media industries.
