The Cybersecurity & Network Technology diploma program offers a practical, career-oriented approach designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and hands-on experience necessary for the installation, repair, security, and maintenance of computers, servers, and computer networks. As the demand for skilled security professionals continues to rise, this program prepares graduates to not only maintain these systems but also to design and configure them effectively. Students will learn to assess and deploy cloud-based solutions securely, as well as monitor and respond to security events across various network systems. This comprehensive training ensures that graduates are well-prepared for a dynamic career in the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity.

Program structure

The Cybersecurity & Network Technology diploma program spans a duration of two years, divided into four academic terms. Students have the option to graduate after the first year with a certificate as a Cybersecurity & Network Support Technician, which prepares them for entry-level roles in the IT industry. The program includes:

  • Hands-on learning in dedicated labs with modern instrumentation.
  • Approximately half of the program time spent in computer laboratories.
  • Access to labs from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm for extensive practice.
  • Optional internship component through Co-operative Education and Career Services.

This structure allows students to gain a thorough understanding of computer systems, networking, and cybersecurity, ensuring they are well-equipped for the workforce upon graduation.
