Program Overview

The Bachelor of Educational Studies – Environmental Arts and Justice at York University is a unique interdisciplinary program designed for students passionate about environmental issues, social justice, and creative expression. This program combines the study of environmental challenges with arts and education to explore how art and activism can drive social and ecological change. Students learn to critically examine issues like climate justice, sustainability, and Indigenous rights, while developing artistic skills and educational tools to raise awareness and inspire action. Although it is not a teaching certification program, graduates gain valuable knowledge and skills applicable in community development, environmental advocacy, and nonprofit sectors focused on justice and sustainability.
