Academic Requirements

To apply for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Wilfrid Laurier University, candidates must meet the following academic requirements:

A four-year or three-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university or college.
A minimum of a B standing or a second-class honours in the final year of the undergraduate program (the equivalent of 10 courses). Additional courses completed after the bachelor's degree will be calculated into the final year GPA, which must be at least a B for admission consideration.
Applicants must demonstrate strong quantitative skills, supported by one or more of the following:
- At least 2 years of work experience in a role requiring quantitative knowledge and application.
- Successful completion (minimum B+) of a demanding quantitative course at a Canadian university or college within the last five years.
- For Laurier students, this includes BU205: Introduction to Applied Statistics or BU255: Managerial Statistics.
GMAT Focus (score of 525 or higher) or GRE equivalent.
CFA Level I pass.
For the full-time MBA with co-op program, applicants must have fewer than two years of combined full-time work and prior co-op experience.
A statement of intent, resume, and three reference forms are required.

International students, particularly those from Vietnam and other Asian countries, should be aware that:

Applicants whose language of instruction was not English during their undergraduate degree must provide evidence of English proficiency.
Accepted tests include:
- TOEFL: A minimum score of 100 (with minimum skills scores of 21 in each of the four skills sets).
- IELTS: A minimum score of seven (7).

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.
