Academic Requirements

For the Professional Masters Preparation Certificate + Master Of Business Administration - International Student Pathway (Optional Co-op), the following academic requirements apply:

General Admission Requirements for International Students:

Senior Secondary school credential appropriate for entry to university in your home country.
Academically rigorous grade 12 year.
Prerequisites required for your program must be taken at the Grade 12 university-preparatory level (or equivalent) and are the highest level of secondary studies available in your final year of secondary school.
You may be required to submit course outlines so Admissions can determine if a prerequisite meets the rigorous academic standard required for admissibility.
Minimum B- average (higher for some programs).

Documents Required for Preliminary Assessment of your Application:

Applicants who have already completed secondary studies will be required to provide all final grades and results, as published by their respective institution or examining board. Applicants are also encouraged to submit online results verification information, if applicable/available.
Applicants who are currently enrolled in secondary studies will be required to provide final grades/results to date, and progress or predicted grades for in-progress studies.
Current international secondary school students may submit predicted grades, but progress school grades are preferred. The Admissions Office reserves the right to request progress school grades in lieu of predicted grades.

Additional documents may be requested following a preliminary assessment. Please ensure that you check your Brock portal regularly for all application and document updates. Examples of additional documents include:

Final, official documents directly from the issuing institution/board will be required to retain an offer. In cases where final, official documents demonstrate that admission requirements are no longer met, an offer may be changed or revoked.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Language Requirements

English is the primary language of instruction at Brock University. If your first language is not English, you must prove proficiency with one of the following:

IELTS - Academic: Overall 6.5, no band below 6.0
TOEFL iBT: Overall 88, no band below 21. After January 1, 2026, overall 4.5, minimum 4.0 on Reading/Speaking, and minimum 4.5 on Writing/Listening.
Duolingo: Minimum score of 110
CAEL: Overall 70, no band below 60
PTE: 58
IELP Level 5: Successful completion of Level 5 of the Brock Intensive English Language program
CAE (C1 Advanced): 176 minimum score
CPE (C2 Proficiency): 176 minimum score
IB: Completion of the International Baccalaureate diploma with English A
English Language Instruction: A minimum of three previous years of full-time study (non-ESL) where the primary language of instruction and evaluation was English, with strong grades in English and other humanities/social science secondary school courses.

Online Proficiency Tests: Brock accepts the IELTS, TOEFL-at-Home Edition Test, Duolingo English Test, CAEL Online test, and the PTE Academic Online test.

IELTS One Skill Retake: is accepted by Brock Undergraduate Admissions.
