Are you passionate about fitness and health? The Fitness and Health Promotion program at St. Lawrence College is designed for individuals eager to help others achieve their fitness goals. This program prepares students to become leaders in a rapidly growing industry, offering a variety of career opportunities. Over the course of two years, students will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that includes exercise science, health promotion, and business management. The program also emphasizes personal and professional development, ensuring graduates are well-equipped for the workforce. With hands-on experience in state-of-the-art facilities, students will gain the skills necessary to excel in the fitness and health promotion field.

Program structure

The Fitness and Health Promotion program is structured to provide a thorough education over a two-year period. The program is delivered on a full-time basis and includes:

  • Hands-on experience through two 5-week work placements, totaling 400 hours in practical settings.
  • Courses delivered in the Student Health & Athletic Centre, featuring state-of-the-art training facilities.
  • Opportunities to obtain additional certifications, such as Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Group Fitness certifications.
  • Focus on personal and professional development, preparing students for various career paths in the fitness industry.

Students will also benefit from small lab sizes, allowing for personalized instruction and hands-on experience in conducting assessments and personal training.
