The Independent Music Production (IMP) program at Seneca offers a unique educational experience tailored for creative musicians. Over the course of this eight-month program, students will develop essential technical, musical, and business skills necessary to thrive as independent artists. The curriculum is hands-on and taught by some of Canada’s top music professionals, empowering students to take on various roles in the music industry, including writing, performing, producing, and marketing their own work. This program not only focuses on musical training but also equips students with vital business and entrepreneurial skills to navigate the industry confidently.

Program structure

The Independent Music Production program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience over a duration of 2 semesters (8 months). The program is offered in a hybrid format, combining both online and in-person coursework, which allows for flexibility in learning while ensuring that students gain practical experience.
