Program overview

The Early Childhood Education (Accelerated) program at Seneca Polytechnic is designed for individuals with prior education who wish to fast-track their learning in the field of early childhood education. This program focuses on understanding the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of children from infancy to school age. Students will learn to develop and implement inclusive programming that supports healthy child development. Graduates will be prepared to apply for registration as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in Ontario, meeting the educational requirements for membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).

Program structure

The Early Childhood Education (Accelerated) program is structured to be completed in 3 semesters (12 months), offering both full-time and part-time study options. The program is delivered in-person, requiring students to attend classes on campus. Key features of the program structure include:
