Academic Requirements

To be admissible to study at Sault College, international students must meet the following requirements:

The equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma at the College preparation level or higher is needed. Some programs may require further studies.
Students must be at least 18 years old by the end of their first semester.
For post-diploma programs, a high school diploma plus a College or University diploma or degree is required.
If there is a 5-year gap between the last studies and the application to Sault College, a Resume/CV may be required.
Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, as many programs are competitive and program ranking can occur. Higher academic achievement may be required for some programs.

Ontario Secondary School diploma (OSSD) with a minimum overall average of 75% in the following required courses (75% not required in each individual course):

One 4U English
One 4U Biology
One 4U Chemistry
One 4U Mathematics
Two other 4U/M courses (highest grades are used)
OR successful completion of the Pre-Health Sciences - Pathways to Advanced Diplomas & Degrees Program (3065) with a minimum 3.0 GPA
OR a minimum 2.8 GPA or 70% in the most recent year of postsecondary studies AND successful completion of 4U English, 4U Biology, 4U Chemistry and 4U Mathematics.

This is typically a high demand program thus meeting the minimum prerequisite average or completing Pre-Health Sciences with the minimum GPA does not guarantee an offer of admission.

NOTE: Applicants and students in the Honours Bachelor of Science - Nursing program are required to disclose all education, which requires submission of all prior educational transcripts from high school and post-secondary studies. Failure to fully disclose your postsecondary transcript could be grounds for dismissal from the program, or disqualification from admission consideration.

For international students from specific countries, the following documents are required:

India: All India Senior School Certificate, Higher Secondary School Certificate, Year 12 State Board Exams, and attested copies of original documents.
Vietnam: Bang Tot Nghiep Pho Tong Trung Hoc and Diem Ky Thi Tot Nghiep THPT or Giay Chung Nhan Tot Tghiep THPT.
Other countries: Secondary School graduation results equivalent for entrance into College or University studies, as determined by Sault College.

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

To demonstrate English proficiency for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) program at Sault College, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

TOEFL (iBT) score of 88 overall
TOEFL (CBT) score of 230 overall
IELTS Academic score of 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0
PTE Academic score of 60 overall
CAEL overall band score of 70 and no part below 60
Cambridge English Exam C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a Cambridge Score of 176 or more
Duolingo minimum score of 120, no band below 115
Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 8 for all areas: reading, writing, speaking, listening
