Academic Requirements

The admission requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) program at Sault College are as follows:

Ontario Secondary School diploma (OSSD) with a minimum overall average of 75% in the following required courses (75% not required in each individual course):
- One 4U English
- One 4U Biology
- One 4U Chemistry
- One 4U Mathematics
- Two other 4U/M courses (highest grades are used)
Successful completion of the Pre-Health Sciences - Pathways to Advanced Diplomas & Degrees Program (3065) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
A minimum 2.8 GPA or 70% in the most recent year of postsecondary studies, along with successful completion of 4U English, 4U Biology, 4U Chemistry, and 4U Mathematics.

It is important to note that this is a high-demand program, and meeting the minimum prerequisite average or completing Pre-Health Sciences with the minimum GPA does not guarantee an offer of admission.

Applicants and students in the Honours Bachelor of Science - Nursing program are required to disclose all education, which requires submission of all prior educational transcripts from high school and post-secondary studies. Failure to fully disclose your postsecondary transcript could be grounds for dismissal from the program, or disqualification from admission consideration.

Learning in a clinical setting is an expected part of the program and cannot be modified. Students must be able to meet these essential requirements of the program including being able to complete nursing care in each setting and meeting the Requisite Skills and Abilities for nursing practice in Ontario as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Language Requirements

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) program at Sault College, international students must demonstrate English language proficiency. The following English language tests and their respective minimum scores are accepted:

TOEFL (iBT): Minimum score of 88 overall
TOEFL (CBT): Minimum score of 230 overall
IELTS Academic: Minimum score of 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0
PTE Academic: Minimum score of 60 overall
CAEL: Overall band score of 70 with no part below 60
Cambridge English Exam C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency: Minimum Cambridge Score of 176 or more
Duolingo: Minimum score of 120, with no band below 115
Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB): Level 8 for all areas: reading, writing, speaking, listening
