Build on your Ontario diploma knowledge of psychology of the law in this college-to-university advanced entry program. The Legal Studies program offers you the opportunity to critically explore the social roles of law and its connections with community, government, and society from different perspectives. This program emphasizes the importance of understanding the language of law, its limits, and its capabilities. It is designed to promote justice by cultivating active citizenship skills, critical reflection, and respect for diversity, pluralism, equality, and equity. Students will gain an extensive understanding of law in its social context, including areas such as human rights, international law, alternative dispute resolution, and information and privacy law.

Program structure

The Legal Studies - Advanced Entry program is structured to provide a comprehensive educational experience over a duration of four semesters for full-time students. The program is designed for those who have completed an Ontario college diploma or advanced diploma in a related field. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Full-time and part-time study options available
  • Experiential learning opportunities through internships and practicums
  • In-class delivery method at Ontario Tech University, Downtown Oshawa
  • Start dates in September

This program allows students to transfer credits from their previous studies, recognizing their prior learning and experience. Students will receive 20 courses toward the 40-course Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree, facilitating a smoother transition into university-level education.
