Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering program at the University of Manitoba is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in various engineering fields. As part of the Price Faculty of Engineering, this program emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and educational excellence. Students will have the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive curriculum that includes a common foundation year followed by specialized studies in one of five engineering disciplines: biosystems, civil, computer, electrical, or mechanical engineering. The program is fully accredited, ensuring that graduates meet the academic requirements to become licensed professional engineers in Canada and beyond.

Program Structure

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering program is structured to provide a robust educational experience over a 4 to 5-year period. The program includes:

  • A common foundation year consisting of 12 courses that lays the groundwork for advanced studies.
  • Three years of specialized studies in one of five engineering majors: biosystems, civil, computer, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
  • Opportunities to participate in the Co-op/Industrial Internship Program, allowing students to gain hands-on, paid work experience.
