Program Overview

The Business Administration – Entrepreneurship and Innovation diploma program is designed to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students. The Business Administration – Entrepreneurship and Innovation diploma program is structured to be completed in 2 years (Full-time). The program is divided into two main phases:

Year 1: Students take 10 foundational courses alongside other business students to gain core business knowledge.
Year 2: Students focus on specialized courses in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, culminating in a diploma upon graduation.

Academic Requirements

The Academic Requirements for the College Diploma - Business Administration - Entrepreneurship and Innovation program are as follows:

Minimum GPA: Not specified.
International students must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 Language Arts (English 30-2)
Grade 12 Mathematics (Math 30-2 or Applied Math 30)

Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

Additional Requirements & Considerations

If you are missing one or more of the minimum entrance requirements, you may be eligible for an alternative entrance pathway. For any pathway listed below, English language proficiency is also a requirement:

Completion of NAIT’s Business Foundations at 55%.
Successful completion of the following business courses through NAIT Open Studies with an overall minimum GPA of 2.0:
1. COMM 1101 (Communications I);
2. ECON 1110 (Introduction to Microeconomics);
3. MATH 1180 (Business Math);
4. ACCT 1115 (Introductory Financial Accounting);
5. ORGB 1135 (Organizational Behaviour).
Completion of minimum 24 post-secondary credits or 8 post-secondary courses with an Admission GPA of 2.0.

Language Requirements

English is the language of instruction at NAIT. To satisfy the English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirement when applying to a NAIT program, you can meet the requirement in one of the following ways:

1. Complete consecutive, full-time studies in English: You will meet this requirement if you have completed at least:

3 years of high school (or a combination of high school and post-secondary) in Canada or in a country on NAIT’s ELP exempt country list, including completion of Grade 12 English; or
2 years of post-secondary in Canada or an ELP exempt country.

Your studies must have been in English, full-time, and consecutive.

2. Complete specific English language courses: Achieve acceptable marks in one of the following English language courses:

Canadian high schools: English 30-1 (65% or higher) or English 30-2 (70% or higher).
NAIT: All three ESL Level 6 courses with a passing grade of 60% or higher in each course.
Other institutions with specific course requirements and minimum grades.

3. Take an ELP test: NAIT accepts the following ELP assessment tests and their minimum test scores:

IELTS Academic: 6.0 in each section.
NAIT’s ELP Exam: 73% or “B” in each section.
TOEFL iBT: 20 in each section (effective Fall 2025: 70 overall score).
Duolingo: 115 overall score.
Other tests with specified minimum scores.
