Program Overview

Industrial Electricians possess strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of workplace safety. They are responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment along with associated electrical and electronic controls. In this program, students will also learn to utilize computer software for troubleshooting and equipment calibration. A significant advantage of this program is the opportunity to challenge the Apprenticeship Block 1 Examination at the end of the academic year. With the ongoing transition to modernize outdated electrical factory equipment, the demand for Industrial Electricians continues to rise.

Program Structure

The Electrical: Industrial program is designed to be completed within one academic year of full-time study. This program offers a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for a successful career in the electrical industry. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Blended delivery format, combining online and in-person learning.
  • Hands-on training through practical experiences.
  • Classes typically scheduled Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with some evening classes.
  • Opportunity to gain real-world experience through a practicum.

Students will engage in various areas of study, including workplace safety, motors and controls, rigging and hoisting, and more, ensuring a well-rounded education in the field.
