Program Overview

The Business Fundamentals program is tailored to equip graduates with essential knowledge and skills for entry-level positions in the business sector. Students will explore the interrelated functions of a business, develop professional communication skills, and gain foundational knowledge in areas such as accounting, business math, and marketing. This program not only prepares students for immediate employment but also allows them to ladder into two-year diploma programs in Business Administration, focusing on disciplines like Accounting, Marketing, Management, or Financial Management. Graduates will be well-prepared to contribute to various business environments and can also enhance their entrepreneurial skills, making them valuable assets in small businesses across New Brunswick and beyond.

Program Structure

The Business Fundamentals program is designed to be completed in a full academic year of full-time study. Students have the flexibility to choose between different delivery formats:

  • Most courses are delivered on campus, with some available in a virtual classroom.
  • Students can opt for a completely virtual format, with synchronous classes scheduled during weekdays.
  • For part-time students, the program can be completed by attending classes for six to eight hours per week over just over two years.
  • Part-time classes are typically held on two evenings per week, with some terms including Saturday classes.

This structure allows students to balance their studies with other commitments, making it accessible for a wide range of learners.
