Program Overview

The Business Fundamentals program is tailored to equip graduates with essential knowledge and skills for entry-level positions in the business sector. Students will explore the various functions of a business and their interrelations, develop professional communication skills, and gain proficiency in business computer applications. The curriculum also covers foundational skills in accounting, business and financial math, and marketing. Graduates can further their education by laddering into NBCC’s two-year Business Administration diploma programs, specializing in areas such as Accounting, Marketing, Management, or Financial Management. This program is designed to open doors to employment across diverse industries, enhancing entrepreneurial skills and providing fundamental business management capabilities for small business owners in various sectors.

Program Structure

The Business Fundamentals program is structured to be completed within a one academic year of full-time study. Students have the flexibility to choose between different delivery formats:

  • On-campus classes with some virtual instruction.
  • Complete virtual format with synchronous classes scheduled during weekdays.
  • Part-time virtual option, allowing completion in just over two years with classes held two evenings per week and occasional Saturday classes.

This structure accommodates various learning preferences and schedules, ensuring that students can pursue their education in a way that best suits their needs.
