Program overview

The International Bachelor of Arts (iBA) is crafted to equip students for a future as global citizens. This program focuses on the study of global dynamics and worldwide issues through the lens of the Humanities and Social Sciences. The iBA aims to provide students with essential knowledge and analytical skills necessary for engaging in research and work related to cultural, economic, political, religious, and social processes on a global scale.

Program structure

The iBA program is structured to be completed in a four-year timeframe, which includes a unique study abroad internship semester. This program is designed to enhance students' understanding of international perspectives and requires participation in international studies courses and language studies. Key features of the program structure include:

  • Completion of a minimum of 120 credit hours.
  • Mandatory residency outside of Canada through either a Memorial field school or an international work placement.
  • Options for majors and minors in various disciplines, including Geography.
  • Honours available, varying by major.
