Academic Requirements

For students interested in the Bachelor of Arts - Centre For Global Studies - Global Gender Studies (Blended Delivery) program, the following Academic Requirements must be met:

General Requirements:

• Applicants must submit an academic transcript indicating all subjects taken and grades earned.
• Transcripts may be required to be evaluated by WES in some cases.

International Students:

International applicants, including those from Vietnam and other Asian countries, should be aware of the following specific requirements:

• Upper Secondary School Graduation and National Examination Results are required.
• Year 10, 11, and 12 Results (Hoc Ba) indicating all subjects taken and grades earned must be submitted. If documents are issued in a language other than English, notarized literal English translations are also required.
• High School Graduation National Examination Results indicating all subjects taken and grades earned must be provided. Notarized copies are not acceptable.
• Diploma of General Education (Bang Tu Tai) / Upper Secondary School Graduation Certificate (Bàng Tót Nghiêp Phó Thông Trung Hoc) must be submitted directly to Huron by the institution attended. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, or counsellor.

It is important to note that applicants may be considered for conditional admission based on mid-year/mid-term results. Mid-year results and a secondary school transcript must be submitted directly to Huron from the institutions attended. If a conditional offer of admission is issued, the final official academic transcript must be sent directly from the proper issuing authority.

Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible and to contact LOA Portal's advisors for any clarification and support regarding the application process.

Language Requirements

If you have not studied for a minimum of four years (including the final year) in an institution where the language of instruction is English, you are required to submit a satisfactory English Language Proficiency test score. Huron requires one of the following:

• IELTS
  • Minimum overall score: 6.5
  • No section less than: 6.0
• TOEFL (iBT) and Home Edition
  • Minimum overall score: 83
  • No section less than: 20
• CAEL
  • Minimum overall score: 60
  • No section less than: 60
• PTE ACADEMIC
  • Minimum overall score: 58
  • No section less than: 56
• DUOLINGO
  • Minimum overall score: 115
  • No section less than: 100

Students who do not meet Huron’s English language requirement but are academically admissible will automatically be admitted into an Academic English program.

Programs include:

• THE ENGLISH BOOST PROGRAM

Students who qualify take ESL in July and August before starting full-time at Huron in September.

• ACADEMIC ENGLISH PROGRAM

After successful completion of the High Advanced Level, students begin full-time studies at Huron. The length of the program is dependent on English language proficiency.

Huron offers students conditional acceptance into undergraduate studies pending final completion of an approved language program. Students who successfully complete the language program will not have to provide an English Language Proficiency test examination score.
